FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TOPEKA – Today, Sen. Roger Marshall called to end the Affordable Care Act, a move that would risk health care for the over 200,000 Kansans enrolled on the ACA marketplace, threaten Kansans with preexisting conditions, and spike health care costs for working families.
Time and time again, Roger Marshall has chosen to drive up health care costs – from backing the toxic GOP plan that slashed Medicaid, to shutting down the government rather than fix the health care crisis he created by allowing ACA tax credits to expire, putting health care coverage for Kansans even further out of reach.
“Roger Marshall is already making health care more expensive, and now he wants to go even further,” Lauren Fitzgerald, Managing Director of Kansas Coalition for Common Sense, said. “His plan to end the ACA would send prices skyrocketing and leave people with pre-existing conditions high and dry. Kansans cannot afford Marshall’s agenda, and they certainly can’t afford his plan to gut their health care coverage.”
