Marshall Rubber-Stamps Trump’s Dismissal of Working Families’ Financial Struggles

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TOPEKA –  President Donald Trump on Tuesday said Americans’ financial situation is not “even a little bit” of a concern, prompting questions about Senator Roger Marshall’s response to the President’s remarks that contradict what Kansas families are facing, with rising costs. When asked for a response, Marshall said, “I would have to find out the context.”

“Gas prices doubled. Grocery bills are up. Travel is out of reach for working families. Senator Marshall doesn’t need more context than that,” said Lauren Fitzgerald, spokesperson for Kansas Coalition for Common Sense. “Kansans work from sunup to sundown to give their kids better opportunities. It’s time Roger Marshall works just as hard to address the costs hurting our families.”

According to The New York Times, consumer prices in the United States rose at the fastest rate since May 2023 last month, as sharp increases in energy costs caused by the war in the Middle East made life more expensive for American consumers
