Extreme Abortion Ban Group Quietly Endorses 60 Legislative Candidates Running in Districts that Voted No in August 2022
October 17, 2024
TOPEKA – The extreme anti-abortion organization Kansans for Life (KFL) secretly released their political endorsements for the 2024 general election. KFL endorsed 60 candidates running for state House and state Senate seats in districts that voted NO in August 2022. Voting NO on the ballot initiative meant they voted to protect reproductive freedoms from political and government interference.
“Kansans agree that the government has no business interfering in the private medical decisions made by patients in consultation with their doctors and their families. Yet Republican legislators and candidates continue to believe they know better,” Ashley All, president of Kansas Coalition for Common Sense, said. “These candidates have extreme positions on abortion that are out of step with most Kansans and a majority of the constituents in their legislative districts.”
Kansans for Life is an extreme anti-abortion organization that gained publicity in 1999 for seeking to prevent a 14-year-old rape victim from getting an abortion. They led the effort to put the “Value Them Both” amendment on the ballot in 2022. They opposed exemptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother.
