Kansas Coalition for Common Sense is an advocacy organization. Our team develops research-based messages to empower Kansas voters, advocates, and leaders in their fight to advance common sense Kansas values. We assist our partners with critical communication services and training to grow our coalition and cultivate new leaders in every corner of the state.

Meet Our Experienced Team

Ashley All, President

Ashley All, President

Ashley is a communication and political strategist with 20 years of experience working with Democrats and moderates in Kansas. She led communication teams on multiple statewide campaigns, including  Governor Laura Kelly. Last year, Ashley was recognized nationally by Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, Politico, and more for her work as spokesperson for Kansans for Constitutional Freedom, the pro-choice campaign that successfully defended constitutional rights in the first vote post-Roe. She went on to help defend reproductive freedom in Michigan, Montana, and Kentucky and change the narrative around reproductive rights in America.

Mike Gaughan, Research Advisor

Mike has more than 20 years of experience in public policy, organizing, advocacy, and cultivating common sense leaders across Kansas. He is an expert campaign and legislative strategist, who utilizes grassroots advocacy networks to create change. He led organizing efforts, managed political campaigns, spearheaded nonprofit advocacy efforts, and managed digital communication programs as a principal at GPS Impact. He prioritizes research, data, and analytics to inform communication and outreach. 

Lauren Fitzgerald, Communications Advisor

Lauren is an experienced communication and campaign strategist with a decade of experience in message development, fundraising, and entertainment. She served as communication director and spokesperson for Governor Laura Kelly and chief communicator for the State of Kansas. She went on to lead the communications team for Kelly’s successful 2022 re-election campaign – a top tier nationally  targeted race. Previously, Lauren held diverse positions in client and event management, fundraising, government and political communications, and digital media strategy.
